ID Technology AutoSeries Labels are made specifically to be used on automatic label printer-applicator systems. Using the best materials available, everything about the AutoSeries is designed to keep your packaging lines running their best and to maximize your OEE.
The AutoSeries includes both direct thermal and thermal transfer choices, as well as thermal transfer label kits – kits f labels and ribbon designed to minimize downtown by ensuring both materials are re-loaded at the same time.
The AutoSeries Advantage.
Locally Produced and Inventoried.
With 6 label production facilities in the US and Canada, ID Technology is able to produce and inventory labels locally, for savings on shipping and to have local inventory for fast response. This ensures that the labels we ship the “freshest” possible giving our customers the best performance on the critical automatic applicators.
Because labels are produced and stored in multiple locations, should a natural disaster or weather event occur at one or multiple facilities the supply of labels can still be provided by the others.
All of our label production plants are equipped to produce direct thermal and thermal transfer labels in high volumes and to the same exacting specifications. This ensures that the labels our customer receives are identical regardless of which ID Technology facility produces them.
During the production process, particular care is taken to ensure consistent die-cutting and edge trimming – both of these can have a negative effect on applicator performance if not held to tight tolerances. We ensure that there are no missing labels or poor slices in the rolls since these can also cause issues (and possibly missed labels on products) if allowed to take place.
Regardless of whether direct thermal or thermal transfer, ID Technology’s relationships with the leading suppliers of label laminates ensure that our labels are always made of the same high-quality materials. We don’t change materials just because we find a better deal and if a formulation of label or adhesive does have to change we’ll discuss and test samples with you first.
Value Added Features
Label & Ribbon Kits
For customers using thermal transfer printing, our label and ribbon kits are designed to improve packaging line efficiency by matching the length of the label and ribbon rolls to ensure that both are replenished at the same time – avoiding having to stop the line to replenish labels and ribbons separately. The labels and ribbons are packaged together to ensure both are always available – usually the rolls are sized so that one roll of ribbon is just the right length for two label rolls.
This feature streamlines the often messy and time-consuming task of loading a new roll of labels onto a print & apply labeling system. Labels are removed from the beginning of each roll during the manufacturing process, leaving a clear leader. The leaders allow the labeling system operator to load new rolls quicker and with less material waste. Without clear leaders, labels frequently get stuck in the printer causing additional downtime.
Labels are removed from the end of each roll of labels. The clear trailers allow the printer to stop with a no label fault before it pulls the end of the roll through the print engine damaging the head and the platen roller. With a clear trailer, the machine stops printing before potential damage can occur. When a new roll is fitted it can simply be spliced to this trailer without having to re-thread the machine.
Keeping the labeling systems printhead and platen roller clean is important and often neglected part of making sure your labels are always printed with the best quality and that printhead life is maximized.
Unlike alcohol wipes typically used for cleaning print heads and rollers the wipes produced by ID Technology are specifically designed to remove the adhesive and dirt that build up on the print heads and rollers of printer applicators, they are also larger and wetter than the standard wipes. Additionally, ID Technology wipes are included in each case of premium labels, this means that the wipes are presented to the operators at the right time, the machine has run out of labels, they open the case and have a wipe provided to them. No need to order separately or get lost
Labels need to be packaged with plastic wrap internal to the corrugated shipping case to protect them from the damaging effect of moisture which, over time, will cause poor release, dispense and adhesion issues as the label construction takes on moisture. The Printhead wipes, usually one per case, are placed on top for easy access by the operator.
Roll Direction Indicator
For added convenience and efficiency, each roll of labels is sealed with a custom roll wind indicator. This feature is formulated with a specialty removable adhesive and it saves time by preventing errors when labels are being loaded onto a print & apply labeling system. No more loading the labels only to find out they are backward!
